The Cook County Board featured the groundbreaking Cook County Legal Aid for Housing and Debt (CCLAHD) program at their Finance Committee meeting last month, highlighting the tremendous impact the nationally recognized program has made since its launch in late 2020. The CBF joined with the Circuit Court and the Cook County Bureau of Economic Development to deliver an impact report on the program in conjunction with the presentation to the County Board, which highlighted the many ways the program has helped more than 75,000 people in need and transformed the court process for eviction, consumer debt, and foreclosure cases.
The CBF has been a lead partner from the start in CCLAHD, an innovative public/private partnership with Cook County, the Circuit Court of Cook County, the City of Chicago, the Illinois Housing Development Authority, and many other legal aid, government, and community partners.
