CBA Earl B. Dickerson Awards
On February 23, CBF 1st Vice President Kenya Jenkin-Wright was honored at the CBA’s Earl B. Dickerson Awards, an award that honors minority lawyers and judges whose careers at the bar emulate the courage and dedication of Dickerson in making the law the key to justice for all in our society.
Illinois JusticeCorps hosts pre-law students
On March 22, Illinois JusticeCorps Fellows welcomed the University of Illinois Chicago pre-law students to the Daley Center Courthouse for an informative morning of court viewing and conversations with Cook County judges.
Celebration of Courage
On June 8, members of the CBF staff attended grantee organization Ascend Justice’s Celebration of Courage at the Old Post Office Building rooftop. This annual festive fundraiser honors survivors, volunteers, and those who champion their mission.
National Conference of Bar Foundations Annual Meeting
On September 28, CBF Director of Development, Sang Yup Lee, spoke on a panel discussion titled “Life Fellows Programs & Beyond” at the 2023 National Conference of Bar Foundations Annual meeting. The CBF has been a proud member of NCBF for over 20 years.
CBF’s Signature Events
Each year, the CBF hosts four signature events which engage more than 4,000 community members and 200 firms and companies over the course of the year.
