Congrats and Thanks to Justice Mason!

There was a significant milestone in our legal community last week: Justice Mary Anne Mason retired from the bench after a stellar 19-year career as a Judge, first in the Circuit Court of Cook County and since 2013 on the Illinois Appellate Court.

The Appellate Lawyers Association was among many paying tribute to Justice Mason’s exemplary service on the Court with a special gift to the CBF in her honor, and she leaves big shoes to fill on the Appellate Court.

Fortunately, Justice Mason is retiring from the Court, not the law. She is joining JAMS, where she will serve as arbitrator and mediator. And she will continue her service as a Board member and Officer of the CBF, taking on an even larger role as co-chair of a new CBA/CBF Task Force on the Sustainable Practice of Law and Innovation.

Congrats Justice Mason, and we look forward to continuing to work with you in this next chapter of an already amazing legal career!
