The CBF mourns the passing of Bob Deignan, a tremendous lawyer and exemplary leader on pro bono and access to justice efforts throughout his 53-year career as a lawyer.
A longtime partner at Baker & McKenzie, Bob had a storied legal career and an active life outside of the law. He received many accolades over the years, including the prestigious CBA/CBF Edward J. Lewis II Pro Bono Service Award in 2008.
Bob’s core belief that large law firms should lead by example on pro bono, support for legal aid, and access to justice was instrumental in the creation and development of the CBF Law Firm Leadership Circle. He served as the inaugural chair for the Leadership Circle until his well-deserved retirement from active practice.
We extend our condolences to Bob’s family, colleagues, and many friends.
