Investing in Justice: More Important Than Ever

A message from Sean Berkowitz, 2020 Investing in Justice Campaign Chair

As the second week of the Investing in Justice Campaign winds down, we are inspired by the early results. We know that many firms plan to start next week or later this month, and with that in mind we wanted to provide an update and reminder on Campaign resources as things quickly change around us due to the coronavirus.

As we all deal with the growing cancellations and changes to our daily lives, it is important to remember that these changes are going to hit the low-income and vulnerable members of our community the hardest. Your leadership and support for the Campaign is more important than ever as we know the need for pro bono services is only going to increase as a result.

We understand that many firms and companies are beginning to encourage remote work and therefore won’t always have the benefit of in-person solicitations, events, or incentives around Campaign participation. While this may require more creativity to the extent a firm’s campaign plan was built around physical presence in the office, the electronic toolkit is a great resource to revisit if you need to change things up. Please also reach out to the CBF staff if there’s anything they can do to help or customize a resource where appropriate.

If you have any questions or suggestions about how we can ensure success in this year’s Campaign, please do not hesitate to let me or the CBF staff know. Thank you again for your leadership during these uncertain times.

Best regards,
