CBF Justice Society members recently had the opportunity to get an insider look at one of the many CBF projects and initiatives they are making possible to address systemic issues affecting access to justice: the new and expanded Resource Center for People without Lawyers in CL-29 at the Daley Center.
The Resource Center is a partnership between the CBF, the Circuit Court of Cook County, and several legal aid partners that serves as a central hub in the Daley Center courthouse for people without lawyers seeking help. Justice Society members got to see firsthand how the Resource Center works and to walk in the shoes of the hundreds of people who rely on the Resource Center every week to help them navigate the complexities of the court system on their own. The evening finished with a reception hosted by Berkeley Research Group to thank the Justice Society for their leadership and generosity in helping to transform justice through innovation.
