The CBF would like to thank the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (CBA YLS) for organizing and hosting another fun and successful Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament, the proceeds of which benefited the CBF. On Friday, January 31st, attorneys and other professionals from the Chicago legal community came together once again at the Standard Club for the YLS 8th annual Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament. Through the leadership of Matt Jenkins, CBA YLS Public Service Manager and associate at Corboy & Demetrio, and the event committee, the evening netted over $12,000. Those funds will help the CBF continue to make our community a fairer and better place for everyone.
A good time was had by all at the event, and just before midnight, James DeRouin of Brinks, Gilson & Lione was officially crowned the 2014 tournament champion, winning two round-trip airline tickets courtesy of IV Ashton. Tim Ritchey, the 2013 Texas Hold ‘Em winner and a partner at Peck Bloom LLC, also graciously donated a 2014 trophy. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s event!
