As we celebrate our nation’s birthday, the CBF is reflecting on the legislative advocacy work that has been an integral part of fulfilling our nation’s promise of equal access to justice for all. We look forward to highlighting a number of specific successful initiatives over the course of our 70th Anniversary year.
Check out this great #throwbackthursday photo from American Bar Association (ABA) Day in Washington D.C. in 2009! That year, the CBF was honored to receive an award from the ABA recognizing the CBF’s exemplary leadership in federal legislative advocacy efforts, which we carry out in partnership with the CBA and the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA). Those initiatives have included successful advocacy to increase funding for the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) and the courts, as well as ongoing efforts to reform our student debt and immigration systems.
