Sarah Blair joined the CBF staff in January 2025 as the Director of Pro Bono & Training. In this role, Sarah helps lawyers and legal professionals get involved in pro bono; helps legal aid organizations, law firms, and corporations strengthen their pro bono programs; and works to ensure that pro bono is an effective supplement to the work of dedicated legal aid attorneys. Sarah also plays a lead role in the CBF Patton Legal Aid Training Academy (PLATA) and related training and professional development efforts for legal aid lawyers and professionals.
Before joining the CBF, Sarah was Pro Bono Counsel for Prisoners’ Legal Services of Massachusetts, where she developed and managed the organization’s pro bono program and trained pro bono attorneys. Sarah also previously worked as a staff attorney at Uptown People’s Law Center, where she litigated federal class action cases and responded to civil rights issues in prisons across Illinois, and at the Equal Justice Coalition in Massachusetts, where she supported advocacy efforts for state funding for legal aid.
Sarah earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys community gardening, spending time with her dog, and growing carnivorous plants.
