2013 Investing in Justice Campaign

2013 IIJ Campaign bannerThanks to the tremendous leadership of 2013 Campaign Chair Dan Reidy of Jones Day, the Campaign Leadership Team, countless volunteers and the thousands of individuals who contributed, the CBF’s 7th Annual Investing in Justice Campaign set new records across the board.

Because we lawyers hold the keys to the justice system, we uniquely understand the vast differences between the reality for those who can afford legal services and those who cannot. I was honored to serve as this year’s Campaign chair and I want to thank everyone who contributed. Just as the effect on a life can extend far beyond the immediate outcome of a case, so too does the impact of a donation. Each person helped and each dollar invested will result in exponential benefits and become part of the solution.
More than 4,000 individuals at 137 participating law firms, corporate legal departments and other law-related organizations contributed more than $1.8 million in the 2013 Campaign. 100% of those donations went directly to CBF grants to Chicago-area pro bono and legal aid organizations. The success of the 2013 Campaign made it possible for these organizations to provide critical legal assistance to tens of thousands of low-income and disadvantaged people who rely upon them. For more details, you can read about the grants made possible by the 2013 Campaign or the press release announcing the Campaign’s record-breaking success.
