Kelly Tautges, CBF Director of Pro Bono and Court Advocacy, was awarded with the prestigious Thurgood Marshall Award of Excellence from the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel at last night’s Annual In-House Counsel Celebration Dinner. The award celebrates the contributions of a person who exemplifies Justice Marshall’s commitment to access to justice and has made a strong impact in the community.
There is no doubt that Kelly has done that. She leads the CBF’s pro bono efforts, working with lawyers, firms, corporations, the courts, and pro bono and legal aid organizations to maximize the impact of pro bono work. Kelly also leads the CBF’s advocacy efforts with the courts for policies promoting access to justice, including policies that make the courts and administrative agencies more user friendly for people without lawyers.
