January brings the bittersweet news that Judge Moshe Jacobius, the longtime Presiding Judge for the Chancery Division in the Circuit Court of Cook County, is retiring at the end of the month.
Judge Jacobius has been a great leader and partner on access to justice issues throughout his more than 11 years as Presiding Judge in the Chancery Division, and prior to that for ten years as the Presiding Judge in the Court’s Domestic Relations Division. Among the highlights of his impact are his leadership in the Court’s groundbreaking Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program during the 2010’s, and more recently in the already nationally acclaimed Cook County Legal Aid for Housing and Debt program.
The Circuit Court of Cook County posted a tribute to Judge Jacobius in a press release here.
We thank Judge Jacobius for all his leadership and good work on the bench, and we wish him all the best in his next act.
