The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Enforcement Working Group is a broad coalition of more than 30 organizations from around the country that works with DHS on immigration detention and enforcement issues. The CBF co-chairs the Working Group with Heartland Alliance’s National Immigrant Justice Center. The Working Group advocates with DHS and its Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arm on fairness and due process issues in the immigration enforcement and detention system. Striving to ensure that immigrant detainees have meaningful access to legal assistance is one of the critical issues on the Working Group’s agenda with DHS and ICE.
